Steven Butler is a talented comic book artist who’s made a big impact in the world of superheroes. He got his start in the late 1980s working on independent titles like “Cat and Mouse” and “The Badger”, but it wasn’t long before major publishers took notice. Marvel brought him on board, and he quickly made his mark on fan-favorite series like “Web of Spider-Man”, “Silver Sable and the Wild Pack”, and “The Amazing Spider-Man Annual”. Butler’s bold, expressive art brought new life to these stories, especially during a time when Spider-Man’s world was going through some major changes.

One of Butler’s most memorable contributions to Marvel came during the famous “Clone Saga” storyline. His work on “Web of Spider-Man” #117–125 helped introduce Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider; an alternate version of Peter Parker who became a key figure in the Spider-Man universe. Butler teamed up with inker Randy Emberlin, and together they delivered fast-paced action and emotional depth that really resonated with readers. Their take on Spidey remains a favorite among longtime fans.

Butler didn’t just stick with Marvel. He also lent his skills to DC Comics, drawing iconic characters like Superman in various titles. He’s worked across a wide range of genres and publishers, including faith-based and independent comics like “PowerMark” and “Welcome to Holsom”. No matter the project, Butler’s art is always packed with energy and heart, and he brings a strong sense of storytelling to everything he touches.

These days, Steven Butler continues to create, now working with Gallant Comics to help bring Golden Age heroes back to life for new audiences. Whether he’s illustrating superheroes or more personal stories, his passion for the medium shines through. With decades of experience and a genuine love for comics, Steven Butler remains a beloved and influential figure in the comic book world.
