Good morning and happy Monday! Today we are racing into J. Douglas Boles, the President of the Indy Motor Speedway!

Boles grew up in Danville, Indiana, where the Indianapolis 500 was more than just a race; it was a tradition. He attended his first Indy 500 as a young boy with his father, and the experience lit a fire in him that never went out. That spark led him not just to become a lifelong fan but to weave racing into the fabric of his career. While earning his law degree, Boles remained deeply involved in motorsports, co-founding a racing team and working tirelessly behind the scenes to stay connected to the sport.

His legal and communications background made him a versatile force in the racing world. Boles eventually joined the team at IMS in 2010, where his passion didn’t go unnoticed. He combined a deep respect for the history of the Speedway with a forward-thinking vision, playing a major role in modernizing fan experiences and elevating the race to a new generation of fans. His hands-on approach; whether it’s picking up trash after a big event or chatting with fans in the stands; has made him one of the most beloved figures in the paddock.

In 2013, Boles officially became president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a role he describes not as a job, but as a dream come true. Under his leadership, IMS has seen major upgrades, exciting new events, and a renewed commitment to community outreach. He’s helped steer the Speedway through challenges, celebrated the legacy of the Indy 500, and always made time for the people who love the sport as much as he does.

J. Douglas Boles is proof that when passion meets persistence, incredible things can happen. His story reminds us that dreams born in the bleachers can lead all the way to the winner’s circle. As long as there are engines revving and fans cheering, Boles will be there; leading the charge and living the legacy of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!
