Good morning! Today we are looking into a really cool Christmas podcast worth checking out; Christmas Countdown Show! I was even lucky enough to ask hosts Eric and Danny a few questions!

The “Christmas Countdown Show” began as a simple idea between friends; actors Eric Petersen and Danny Jordan; who shared an obsession with holiday traditions and the joy of Christmas pop culture. Launched in 2021, the podcast quickly found an audience that appreciated its lighthearted format, upbeat chemistry, and commitment to celebrating the season with humor and nostalgia. What started as a small creative project soon grew into a popular holiday entertainment platform with listeners tuning in from around the world.

The core format of the show centers on the hosts ranking and debating Christmas-themed lists; from films and TV specials to songs, traditions, and holiday snacks. Each episode focuses on a specific countdown, with Eric and Danny offering personal stories, behind-the-scenes details, and deep-cut trivia. The familiarity of countdowns paired with genuine enthusiasm gives the podcast its signature blend of structure and spontaneity.

As the show grew, so did its production value and scope. The creators expanded into special guest episodes featuring actors, musicians, and industry professionals connected to holiday entertainment!

Giancarlo: What inspired you to start this podcast?

Eric and Danny: We both have a lifelong love for the holiday season; the traditions, the music, the food, the family, all of it! So, we wanted to create a space for all people to gather and reminisce and get lost in the wonder and joy of the season. To see the global community that has formed as a result of this simple idea still blows us away to this day. People are hungry for community and authentic connection. We're grateful to have played a part in providing that for many people.

Giancarlo: What is your favorite Christmas song of all time?

Eric and Danny: How can you pick just one?! But, we are known as the countdown boys for a reason, so here it goes... For Eric, it's The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, and for Danny it's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Frank Sinatra.

Giancarlo: What is your favorite Christmas fun fact?

Eric and Danny: Wow, another great question. Rather than give an answer, we're going to say that this just might have inspired a countdown theme for next season. So... keep an ear out for season 6 in 2026!

Giancarlo: Anything new and exciting we should look forward to on the podcast?

Eric and Danny: We are in a new studio space this year, which has really meshed well with our energy, and we think you can feel that in the episodes we have released so far. We also have a new partnership with Hallmark that is providing us the opportunity to lean into one of our favorite parts of the holiday season: The traditions!

Giancarlo: What is this best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Eric and Danny: Again, we have been fortunate to receive so many great insights in our Iives but one that sticks out came from Verdine White from Earth, Wind & Fire. He said, "Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken, and you'll find that being yourself is far more interesting and a lot easier than the alternative."
