Good morning as always, everyone! Today we are jumping into a composer who has scored some great movies you know and love, Bruce Broughton!

If you’ve ever been swept up by the emotion of a movie scene or found yourself humming along to a theme you can’t quite place, chances are Bruce Broughton had a hand in it. With a career spanning film, TV, and even theme parks, Broughton has built a legacy as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and beloved composers.
He’s won a record-setting 10 Emmy Awards and received an Oscar nomination for his energetic and heartfelt score to “Silverado” in 1985. Over the years, Broughton has added his signature musical touch to family favorites like “Harry and the Hendersons”, “The Rescuers Down Under”, and “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid”, bringing warmth, wonder, and excitement to stories that have stood the test of time.
Disney fans in particular owe a lot to Broughton. Beyond his film work, he created the stirring music for theme park attractions like “Spaceship Earth” at EPCOT and “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience”. He even arranged the orchestral fanfare that opens every Walt Disney Pictures film; the iconic castle moment that you’ve seen a hundred times!

Off-screen, Broughton has been just as influential. He’s taught composition at USC and UCLA and served as a governor for the Academy’s music branch, helping to elevate film scoring as a serious and celebrated art form.
From the big screen to the Magic Kingdom, Bruce Broughton’s music continues to inspire awe and emotion. His melodies don’t just accompany a story; they help define it, making every scene and every ride that much more unforgettable!
Piece Of Advice:
Giancarlo: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Bruce Broughton: When I was just out of college and looking for work, the best advice I got was, “Ignore all the advice I’m giving you, and just do anything you can think of.”
The 2nd best advice I learned was: It doesn’t matter what happens to you, only what you do about it.
Thank you as always everyone and we will reach out to you again on Monday! Have an incredible week!
